Here is an article on team likeability for a neutral fan that is reasonably good. Spots 1, 30, 31, and 32 are damn good.
AFC | NFC | ||
Buffalo Bills "Not Favorable" | I'm hard pressed to have an opinion about this team. Or, at least, I was before they spoiled the Jets' playoff hopes in 2015. Of course, that was mostly the Jets' fault, but whatever, now I have an opinion of the Bills, and it isn't favorable. | Dallas Cowboys "The Worst" | Of all NFL teams, this is my absolute least favorite. If it were up to me, this team would go 0&16 every year. |
Miami Dolphins "Don't Mind" | I don't mind the Dolphins. Dan Marino and their perfect season in 1972 and all. I do like their Miami Vice colors, but that's about it. | New York Giants "Booooooo" | I was thrilled to death when this team prevented New England from having a perfect season some years ago. But when they went to the Super Bowl to play New England again a few years ago, I wanted to vomit. This team must absorb some of my remaining animosity for the East Coast after New England takes as much as it can handle. |
New England Patriots "The Worst" | Ugh, ugh, ugh, ugh. I didn't even know about this team, to be honest, until the Packers beat them in the Super Bowl in 1997. Granted, I was 15 and only just getting into football back then, but I was pretty disappointed in the match-up because of it. Back then, it was "Patriots? Who cares?" These days, its more like I want this team to crumble and not exist. I hate this team almost as much as I hate they Cowboys. | Philadelphia Eagles "Reggie White" | This is the team that Reggie White played for before God (or Mike Holmgren, whatever) told him to come help the Green Bay Packers win a Super Bowl. It is the only team in the NFC East for which I have a positive opinion. |
New York Jets "Favorable" | Like the Bills, I was hard pressed to have an opinion about this team too. When Favre went here after he "retired", it really wasn't that big of a deal. But in 2015, when I discovered that former Texans QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick (who I call Buffalo Rider) went here, and was doing well, my opinion improved. They also won a couple games that I predicted they would win, and defeated the Patriots, so my opinion is favorable now. | Washington "The Worstest" | I would like the team for our nation's capitol if it didn't have a racial slur for a name and an appropriated image for a mascot. This team is always #32 of my "Ideal" listings for those reasons alone. Native Americans are people, not mascots. |
Baltimore Ravens "Vashda Nerada" | [Opinion] | Chicago Bears "Still Suck" | The Bears still suck, we all know this, but as Division rivals for the best team ever, they have an obligation to do well. |
Cincinnati Bengals "Highly Favorable" | My mother's entire family still lives in Cincinnati, and one cousin is such a rabid fan that she wanted the garter for her wedding to be black and orange. It was hideous. Oh, and she once went on a date with Boomer Esiason by winning some radio contest. | Detroit Lions "Better Do Well" | Like the other NFC North teams, the Lions should do well so that the Packers can be champions of a strong division. Unfortunately for Michigan, Detroit never seems to achieve that goal. |
Cleveland Browns "Don't Mind" | [Opinion] | Green Bay Packers "Shareholder" | I'm a Shareholder. |
Pittsburgh Steelers "Not Favorable" | [Opinion] | Minnesota Vikings "Better Do Well" | I lived 4 years with the wayward souls that are fans of this team. I can't believe that Favre actually played for them. |
Houston Texans "New Home Team" | [Opinion] | Atlanta Falcons | [Opinion] |
Indianapolis Colts "Just No" | [Opinion] | Carolina Panthers | [Opinion] |
Jacksonville Jaguars "Still Exist" | [Opinion] | New Orleans Saints | [Opinion] |
Tennessee Titans "Lamest Mascot" | [Opinion] | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | [Opinion] |
Denver Broncos "Don't Mind" | [Opinion] | Arizona Cardinals "Ed's Team" | My favorite blogger is a fan of this team. Because of that, I now have a favorable opinion of this team too. |
Kansas City Appropriations "Boyfriend's Team, but Still Racist" | KC has adjusted its mascot to a less offensive image, but it's still an appropriation and their fans still dress up in headdresses and do offensive chants. I just wish I didn't love Alex Smith so much. | St. Louis Rams "Effin Spoilers" | I don't have much of an opinion about this team, believe it or not. I have known them to be spoilers, which means they're not good enough to ever make the playoffs or win a championship, but they can usually be counted on to defeat a really good team at least once a season. |
Oakland Raiders "Highly Favorable" | RAIDERS! LET'S GO OAKLAND! Except in early 2017, I learned that they're moving to Vegas. I'm proud of the City of Oakland for not using their money on a stadium, We'll see how this turns out. | San Francisco 49ers "Highly Favorable" | I have always not-hated/liked the 49ers, and living in the region bumped up their status for me. However, then they kept defeating the Packers, but not going on to win or even go to a Super Bowl. They also dumped my boyfriend, Alex Smith, when he got a concussion. But the thing about the 49ers is that when they're good, they're GOOD. |
San Diego Chargers "Favorable" | [Opinion] | Seattle Seahawks "Highly Favorable" | Holmgren went here after he left the Packers, and my lack of an opinion improved to "don't mind" for that reason. The Fail Mary of 2012 did inspire my delightful poem at the time and I thought I would never like the Seahawks again. Then Crabtree pissed off Sherman and he made the rant heard round the world. Suddenly, I had a new appreciation for this team. I learned that their QB played with "a whole pack of badgers" in 2014 then later, a plucky running back with the force of a freight train but difficulty speaking to reporters charmed me with his one-word responses. Many hate this team because they're a bunch of cocky jerks. To me, that's the charm. |
